Patrick and his team have taken good care of us since we appointed them in the summer of 2016. Our initial engagement was our setup as a newly-independent Community Benefit Society, and involved the separation of our finances from our old parent charity. This including agreeing the closing balances, recognition of income up to that point, and resolving all intercompany transfers with our old parent charity and our auditors.
Patrick helped us navigate these tricky waters and establish the community benefit society with the correct registrations, VAT and tax payments. Since then Patrick and the team have maintained our bookkeeping and accounting so that we have regular management accounts, pay invoices and payroll in a timely way, and regularly report to our board of trustees.
Patrick also develops our budgeting and forecasting, helped with the setup of a subsidiary trading company, and provided huge support as we created our first set of annual accounts as an independent CBS. Patrick’s advice has proven invaluable as we ran a commercial sale/divestment process over the summer and our ongoing governance considerations about how we operates as a CBS.
Reliable, responsive, flexible, with deep experience and offering solid counsel, we are very happy with our relationship with Patrick and Third Sector Accountancy, and have recommended them to other organisations we know.
